Chelsea Apartment AV Installation & Lutron Lighting

The Client had Crestron systems in other residences and therefore we chose to use Crestron to aid familiarity with the system. We used Crestron MTX-3 handheld remotes and a bespoke iPad application for control. In the living room we used a 75″ Samsung screen mounted above the fireplace using an electrical drop mechanism bracket to ensure it could be lowered to the correct height when in use.

In the kitchen a similar Samsung screen was mounted on an electrical pivot bracket to allow the screen to be viewed from all areas of the room. We used a Triad speaker bar on each of the screens to provide front audio channels and a Bowers & Wilkins PV1D subwoofer in each room for added base. We also added the existing Aquavision screen to the central system.

We used a Middle Atlantic equipment rack which could pull and swing to allow for ease of access during maintenance. Central video sources were installed such as a Kaleidescape system, Kartina TV boxes and Sky HD Boxes. These were all distributed using a Crestron Digital Media system.

We integrated the Lutron lighting system to ensure our clients could control the lights via the Crestron control devices and also the Daikin AC and heating systems. The finishing touch was also adding the fireplace so everything could be controlled using the Crestron system – providing total home control whether to set the lights or adjust the heating.
