How to Choose the Right Speakers
For Architects and Interior Designers
First of all, it is important to know how the room is going to be used and what kind of sound experience you have in mind. This is not about budget – the same budget can be used for the very finest reference music system with just two speakers, or split between multichannel speakers in a dedicated home theatre.
The key question is whether this is mainly a place to relax and enjoy listening to music and maybe watch some tv, or a dedicated cinema room to watch movies and concerts with friends. Most music is recorded in stereo, while movies, concerts, and games are produced with surround sound.
Statement Speakers or Discreet Speakers
Again, it depends on what you have in mind. Loudspeakers can be completely installed and hidden in the wall, discretely placed on the wall, or proudly placed as an object of desire in the room like a grand piano.

MODEL O – This full-range loudspeaker is designed to provide the legendary Steinway & Sons performance in a small package without the need for a separate woofer. The Steinway & Sons Model O functions impeccably as a surround speaker or a simple stereo setup, and its small footprint makes it a perfect alternative to wall mounted speakers.
MODEL A – The Steinway & Sons Model A loudspeaker provides the acclaimed sound performance from a speaker design optimised for room-friendly placement against a wall. This makes the Model A the first choice when the room shape or interior demands a more space-saving setup. While the company’s own Air Motion Transformer tweeter, dedicated midrange driver, and two large woofers provide outstanding clarity, resolution, and a deep yet defined bass, the shallow closed-cabinet construction takes advantage of the speaker placement near the wall. HEAD UNIT PROCESSOR – The Head Unit Processor is a testament to both craftsmanship and control. Its distinctive volume wheel is crafted from 1 kg of gold-plated brass and mounted on precision-machined Swiss bearings. The Head Unit Processor is an in-room statement processor. Together with the iconic volume wheel and piano lacquer, it is the perfect partner for the equally outstanding Steinway loudspeakers.
P100 2.1 – The Steinway & Sons P100 2.1 is equipped with the advanced technologies for which Steinway Lyngdorf is known, including RoomPerfect™ and fully digital signal processing. P100 2.1 supports all video resolutions up to 1200MHz pixel clock, including 8K with the new high dynamic range formats. With the built-in media player, the P100 2.1 is ideal as a media center for smaller installations.
SP-1 – Combined with the A1 or A2 fully digital amplifier, the SP-1 stereo sound processor is totally noise immune; all the traditional devices in the signal path are replaced by one sound processor and fully digital amplifiers. The result is precise control, without noise, at any sound levels.
A1 & A2 – The 2-channel A1 and 4-channel A2 fully digital amplifiers are unique in their construction as well as their performance, and are the premier choice for both stereo and surround sound setups. They utilise true digital amplification, thus ensuring that signal processing is handled 100% in the digital domain without any sound-deteriorating analog conversions.

Located in London’s West End in the Marylebone district, the STEINWAY HALL in London was opened in 1875 and became the first STEINWAY HALL in Europe. It has showrooms as well as several practice rooms available for musicians of all ages.
